Daily Proverbs Meditation: 10th Nisan – The InBetween of Creation
Good morning, dear friends. Today, March 28, 2026, we step into the 10th of Nisan on the Hebrew calendar, drawing wisdom from Proverbs 10. This chapter brims with vivid contrasts—righteous versus wicked, life versus death—inviting us to examine our hearts in light of God's timeless truth.
6th Creation Day: The InBetween
On the sixth day of Creation, God formed humanity from dust, breathing life into Adam and Eve, placing them in the lush garden as stewards of His world. This day embodies the InBetween—suspended between the raw earth below and divine breath above, between potential and purpose, between formation, experiential oneness and fellowship with the Creator of all.
Proverbs 10 echoes this tension. It separates human character into two paths: the righteous, who reflect God's image through wise living, and the wicked, who distort it through folly. Like Adam tending the garden, we stand InBetween divine calling and daily choices—our words a well of life or violence, our labor fruitful or slothful. The chapter calls us to align with our sixth-day identity: image-bearers tasked with stewarding speech, work, and relationships in harmony with God's amazing design.
Menorah Lamp of the Righteous
Picture the golden menorah in the tabernacle, its steady lamps fueled by pure olive oil, illuminating the holy space for priestly service. The righteous in Proverbs 10 embody this lamp—lives trimmed and burning bright with the reverential awe of the Lord.
A wise son gladdens (blesses, delights) his father; treasures of wickedness profit nothing, but righteousness delivers from death. Their mouths pour forth life-giving water, restrained lips mark true wisdom, and diligent hands gather in summer's harvest. This lamp doesn't flicker in isolation; it warms families, sustains communities, and guides wanderers through moral darkness.
In our InBetween existence, the righteous lamp reminds us: ordinary faithfulness—integrity in gain, care in speech, generosity to the poor—keeps the flame alive. It's the quiet tending that prevents snuffing out, turning everyday stewardship into sacred light.
Menorah Lamp of the Wicked
Across from this glow stands the wicked's dim counterfeit—a sputtering wick fed by deceit, destined to smoke and fail. Their violence-covered mouths spew destruction; foolish chatter rushes toward ruin. Short-lived hopes perish, while crooked pursuits leave only ashes.
Where the righteous gather wisely, the wicked scatter through laziness. They chase gain without God, ignoring correction, their self-fueled flame blinding rather than revealing. Proverbs 10 exposes this lamp as illusion: hot for a moment, then cold eternity.
Friends, in the sixth day's InBetween, self-made light deceives. The wicked neglect the oil of humility, wisdom, and reverential awe of the Lord, stumbling from formation into fragmentation. Which flame do we tend amid life's tensions?
Appointed Feast: Nisan 10 Preparation
The 10th of Nisan pulses with redemptive history. Here, Israel selected unblemished lambs, setting them apart four days before Passover's deliverance from Egypt. It's a day of intentional choice—choosing life amid looming judgment, preparation before the midnight cry.
Proverbs 10 fits this rhythm perfectly. Certainly Yeshua is our passover lamb - willingly sacrificed for all mankind (those who choose to receive His gift) but also its contrasts become our lamb-selection in our daily life: Will we choose diligence over sloth, truth over lies, generosity over greed? The righteous store wisdom like a household prepares its lamb—faithfully, in advance. Diligence in "summer" mirrors setting apart time for faithfulness; restrained words prepare the heart for crisis.
On this Nisan 10, in our InBetween stance as sixth-day humanity, God invites examination: What lamb of habit are we nurturing? The chapter equips us to choose the path delivering from death, echoing the Lamb who delivers eternally.
Meditation in the InBetween
Beloved, Proverbs 10 isn't abstract poetry; it's a mirror for sixth-day souls. We live InBetween—formed from dust yet crowned with glory, called to subdue chaos through Christ-like character. The righteous lamp shines as we embrace this: speech that builds, work that endures, hearts that trust God's justice over hasty gain.
Contrast sharpens vision. The wicked's failing light warns against squandering our InBetween with untended flames—babbling tongues, idle hands, proud hearts. Yet grace abounds: even now, the Spirit offers fresh oil, trimming wicks grown smoky.
Nisan 10 whispers hope. As Israel chose lambs pointing to Messiah, we choose wisdom pointing to Him—the true Light entering our InBetween, bridging earth and heaven. Let this chapter shape your day: speak life, labor faithfully, love generously. Your lamp matters; it lights paths for others stumbling in shadow.
In family conversations, workplace decisions, quiet moments alone—embody the sixth day's glory. The InBetween isn't limbo; it's holy ground for image recovery, where God's breath revives dusty frames.
Closing Prayer
Gracious Father God Most High, thank You for forming us InBetween dust and divinity, breathing purpose into our frames. On this 10th of Nisan, illuminate Proverbs 10's truths in our hearts—separate light from dark, righteous from wicked, life from death.
Tend the menorah lamps within us. Pour pure oil on righteous flames: wise words, diligent hands, generous spirits that DELIGHT You and others. Guide us to extinguish wicked flickers—violence in speech, sloth in work, pride in pursuits. Today we choose to be faithful stewards of this InBetween, reflecting Your image amid earth's tensions and Witness' to the people around us of your Truth.
As Israel chose lambs for deliverance, help us choose wisdom's path today, preparing souls for Your eternal Passover. I will set my gaze on Jesus, the Lamb of God, who was born of a virgin, was crucified, and rose from the grave, who bridges every divide. May the righteous lamp (that only Jesus can provide me) burn steadily, warming the world with Your love until evening falls.
In the fear of the Lord, we look to you the source of all gladness, stability, and life abundant.
In Jesus Mighty Name, the name above all names, Amen.
